Julia McStravog, MA 2014, published an article in Friends Journal about her time spent working for the Quakers and how it has impacted her ministry. She currently works for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Click here to read the article.
Allison DeLaney, MA 2004, was one of eight nationwide to receive the John Templeton Fellowship. The fellowship is aimed at training board certified chaplains to do research in order to promote better pastoral care and interdisciplinary dialogue in healthcare. She will pursue a Master's in Public Health at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, beginning fall 2016.
Pat Harvat, OP, MTS 1983, has been elected to serve as general councilor for the Adrian Dominican Sisters, effective July 1, 2016.
Gerard Jordan, OPraem, MDiv 2015 and C. Vanessa White, DMin 2005, recently led the annual Tolton Pilgrimage in Chicago. The group of 43 individuals walked in the steps of Fr. Kimberly Lymore, MDiv 2003, was recently appointed Director of the Augustus Tolton Pastoral Ministry Program at CTU. 
Maryann Dosen, SSFCR, MA 2008, was recently one of the presenters at the Franciscan Experience 2016: "Be Merciful Like the Father of Mercies Is Merciful," a lecture series sponsored by the Franciscan Institute of Spirituality of the Pontifical University Antonianum in Rome, Italy. She spoke on "The Franciscan School of Mercy."
Jim Dennison, MA 2004, recently retired as Parish Director of the Diocese of Green Bay, Wisconsin.  He is currently battling liver cancer and would appreciate your prayers.  His wife Pat Dennison, MA 2004, continues ministering as a hospital chaplain in Green Bay.
Roger Grant, MDiv 2015, transitioned last month to working as a chaplain for Comfort Hospice and Palliative Care in Chicago. He was previously a chaplain at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, Illinois. He is also pursuing ordination with the Universal Anglican Church (Independent).
Eddie DeLeón, CMF, MDiv 1991, will join the full-time faculty at CTU as the Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministry and Director of Intercultural Outreach beginning fall 2016.
Ferdinand Okorie, CMF, MA/MDiv 2007, will teach a course on the Gospel of Mark in J-term at CTU next winter. He is currently completing his doctoral thesis in New Testament at Loyola University in Chicago.

Paul Bittorf, MDiv 2010, was recently awarded a Life Services Network award from Presence Health for his chaplaincy work.

David G. Caron, OP, DMin 1998, has been appointed President of Aquinas Institute of Theology. David is a Dominican of the Province of St. Martin de Porres, where he most recently served as Assistant to the Provincial. Prior to that, the taught at Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis University and Barry University in Miami, FL, where he also directed the Center for Dominican Studies. 

Rev. James Cassidy, MDiv 1978, recently received the 2013 Award of Excellence from Allina Health, in Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN. The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional care for patients and communities. As a chaplain at Allina Hospice, Rev. Cassidy has gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of those individuals and families approaching the end of life. For more than 30 years, he has developed trusting, respectful relationships, and provided compassionate care for hospice patients and their families.

Dr. Han Sang Cho, DMin 2012, has been appointed Professor of Spirituality at Busan Presbyterian University in South Korea.

Adrienne Curry, MDiv 2001, has accepted a position in Lexington, KY as the Director of Parish Social Ministry for Christ the King Cathedral.

Rev. Eddie DeLeon, CMF, MDiv 1991, is the Assistant Chaplain at Saint Thomas More, the Catholic Chapel and Center at Yale University in New Haven, CT.

Maggie Kast, MTS 1987, recently had her essay, 'Symbols: Forest of Ambiguity' made available through the online magazine Numbero Cinq, at

Kathleen McGourty, MA 2010, wrote an article on social responsibility that was recently published in US Catholic magazine.

Angela Obu-Anukam, MA 2007, was selected for the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education's (ACPE) National Emerging Leader Award from the Southwest Region.  The Emerging Leader Award is presented annually to nine ACPE Supervisors who have been supervising ten years or less, and have made outstanding contributions to the ACPE community through their initiative, innovation, or leadership at the local center, regional, or national levels. Anglea is a member of the Department of Pastoral Care at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX.

Libia Paez-Howard, MDiv 2003, received the Bishop Quarter Award.  The Bishop Quarter Award, named for Bishop William Quarter, the first bishop of Chicago, is given each year to one layperson or married couple in each vicariate who demonstrates consistent service to the ministries of the archdiocese's vicariates.      

Dr. Dolly Sokol, MTS 1983, received the "Faithful Servant Award" from the Southwest Liturgical Conference (SWLC) Board of Directors for her dedicated years of service to Catholic liturgy in the US. Dr. Soko has severd as Associate Director of the Office of Divine Worship in the Archdiocese of Chicago, Director of the Office of Worship and Christian Initiation for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, and as liturgical consultant and speaker on liturgy throughout the US.  She is currently the Executive Director of the Office of Development in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, NM.

Sr. Stephanie Thompson, SNDdeN, MDiv 1994, MA 1989, is the Manager of Spiritual Care at Mercy Regional medical center in Loraine, OH.
